Have you ever noticed how milk from the grocery store makes you and your kids feel? Conventional milk causes mucous, skin irritations, digestive complaints, even behavioral problems...

When you eat things that you can't properly digest, your bodies lets you know by manifesting all those symptoms. Good health--including mental health--starts in the gut.

Do you want milk that nourishes your family rather than causing problems?

Raw grass-fed milk is so much better than the stuff you buy at the stores! It contains beneficial bacteria and enzymes (including lactase) that help you digest it easily. The proteins haven't been denatured by high heat pasteurization. Grass fed milk is packed with nutrients including CLA's and omega-3's because the cows are eating what they were meant to eat: grass.

And you can do so much with it. You can drink it plain, make chocolate milk or maple milk, you can make puddings, yogurt, kefir, smoothies, clabbered milk. You can even make cheese with my milk because it hasn't been ruined by high heat processing like most milk at the store.

If you are new to buying milk from the farmer, it's easy!

For on-farm pick up:

1. Purchase the option for the amount you want that says "[amount] + jar deposit". This includes a jar and lid deposit that will be refunded to you when you return clean and undamaged lids and jars back to me. If it is a one time milk purchase, you will get the deposit back right away when you return the clean jar and lid, or if you continue to buy for an extended time, it will be refunded when the time comes you decide you are done buying milk from me.

(I sometimes have plastic gallon jugs that we bought distilled water in, which you can use for a one time milk purchase and not have to worry about the jar deposit. If you confirm with me that I have free jugs available, you may purchase the option with no deposit.)

2. Contact me so we can agree on a good time for you to come by the farm to get your milk. I will meet you and show you where the milk is stored, and how to pay for future purchases.

3. Come at your appointed time. I will provide jars and lids. You should bring a chilled cooler to keep your milk cold on the way home, and towels to pad the jars so they don't hit each other and crack.

4. If you love the milk and want to keep getting milk from me each week, we will set up a weekly pick-up day for you, and you will pay in advance each week with cash, check or venmo for your pick up the following week. Bring back your clean jars and lids each week. At this point you can come get your milk at your convenience on your weekly day and it is self serve.

5. Feel good because you are making a healthy choice that will have far reaching effects in you and your family's life!

For pick up at the Newport farmers' market (May - October):

1. Order the amount you want on the Thursday or Friday before a Saturday market. If it's your first time buying my milk, you need to pay the (refundable) jar deposit. So choose the option that includes the deposit.

2. Stop by the Newport farmers' market (Saturdays from 9:00 - 2:00) to pick up your milk. Please bring a chilled cooler, and towels to pad your jars so they don't hit each other and crack.

3. If you love the milk and want more, continue to pre-pay for milk (you can prepay at the market, or here online) and I will continue to bring it to the market as long as you want. Since you have already paid the jar deposit the first time, you now pay for just the price of the milk, in other words, the "no deposit" option.

At the end of the season, or whenever you decide you are done, your jar deposit will be refunded when you bring back the clean jar and lid. Or you may transition to becoming an on-farm pick upper if you want to.
